Make Your Own Bath Bombs

Thank You to Hollie who gave me this recipe to share with you.

To make 5 bath bombs you just need
2 cups of baking soda
1 cup citric acid
1 tea spoons of olive oil
3 tea spoons of essential oil

Optional
food colouring
glitter and sequins! (So girly and Christmasy!  )

You can get some sort of mould too, it makes the bath bombs shape much neater. Something like this or Christmas ones like this.

Mix the citric acid and baking soda into a bowl, make sure it's mixed very well.
Add the olive oil and essential oil. The scent depends on how soft or strong you want it, so I think it's best to start with just one tea spoon then if that's not enough, add more. I usually add between 2-3 depending on what scent I've chosen.
Add a small bit of food colouring, glitter and sequins, you don't have too, I just think it's much prettier

The next part I find tricky, add a TINY bit of water, I find it easier to fill up an old spray bottle with water and give it four to five sprays at the most. Be very careful not to add too much because you don't want it to start fizzing! Stop spraying when the mixture clumps in your hand when squeezed.

Fill one half of your mold and pack it very tightly, pack the other and place them together just make sure they don't snap shut together. I slightly overfill each, push the two halves together (not shut) until they become a ball.

Leave to set for ten minutes and then remove from the mold. Leave to set for a few hours and then they are ready!

It takes pratice to get it perfect but it's a great Christmas present as ether a stocking filler or make a few of them and box them up as a gift set. I started making them for myself then realized how nice they'd be as gifts.

You could wrap in cellophane and ribbons for the gift packaged look!
